I was born in England and lived in Hong Kong for 7 years before arriving in Sydney's Eastern Suburbs in 2011. I volunteered at Hong Kong Dog Rescue from where my husband and I adopted the beautiful Bentley (Shar-Pei cross). We had many adventures with Bentley and brought him over to Australia with us where he learnt about open spaces, grass and fresh air!
In 2012 we adopted Genki (Border Collie x Dalmatian) from a shelter on the Central Coast and the adventures have not stopped. Genki has an anxiety disorder and has taught me so much about dog training in general as well as empathy, kindness, the importance of 'finding the fun' and how tricky it is to navigate conflicting advice from the internet and unqualified people!

After 15 years working in the corporate sector, a career change was in order and dog training seemed the obvious choice. I completed the Certificate IV in Companion Animal Services with the Delta Institute and have trained dogs of all ages, breeds and temperaments. I am experienced in recognising and dealing with anxiety and reactivity in dogs which ultimately led me to become one of only a handful of Certified Nose Work Instructors in Australia.
I am a passionate advocate of force-free training methods and keep updated with the latest scientifically-proven research from around the world. I'm a member of APDT (Association of Pet Dog Trainers), PPGA (Pet Professional Guild Australia), Delta and ACSW (Association of Canine Scent Work).
I want all owners to create a strong bond with their dogs as they can contribute so much to our mental and physical well-being. Dog training is easy once you know how and it's all about you and your dog understanding and communicating with each other as effectively as possible.
